St Albans’ Apprentice hopeful has survived another meeting in Alan Sugar’s boardroom, despite her team losing the second challenge in a row on last night’s programme.

Luisa Zissman, who owns Dixie’s Cupcakery in Market Place, attempted to impress Lord Sugar by making and selling flavoured beer on the second show of the series.

The episode started with Lord Sugar’s secretary making a call to ask the candidates to meet at the Old Bank in Fleet Street.

Luisa, dressed in a baby pink onesie, answered the phone twiddling her hair.

She then ran around all of the rooms in the house to tell the other candidates about the meeting.

After Lord Sugar’s briefing the teams split to begin brainstorming and tasting different beers.

One of the boys’ team, Tim Stillwell, was moved over to the girls’ team to act as team leader.

Along with her team Evolve, 25-year-old Luisa created a rhubarb and caramel beer.

Both groups spent the day making and branding the beer in both barrels and bottles.

The next day they were sent out to sell their products.

While the boys’ team headed to the St Albans Beer Festival, the girls opted for the Kent Beer Festival.

On their arrival they found that it was just a pub and their sales were affected by the low footfall.

During the cab ride to the next location Luisa said: "The problem there was that there wasn’t enough people.

"It is a shame that no one looked up that it was a pub."

They were equally unsuccessful when they tried to sell their bottles at a wine bar in Richmond.

As the day drew to a close both teams were called back to the boardroom and the final totals were announced.

The girls made a profit of £399.02 but it was not enough to beat the boys’ £831.02.

Project manager Tim decided to bring Rebecca Slater and Francesca MacDuff-Varley back into the boardroom, meaning that Luisa lives to fight another day.

Lord Sugar decided that Tim did not apply enough thought to the task and he was fired.

The next episode of the show, which will see the candidates creating a new piece of flat pack furniture, will be aired next Wednesday on BBC One.
