A St Albans chef has been named Britain’s barbecuing champion.
Fiona Dulake, head chef at The Boot pub in Market Place, was awarded the title in the British BBQ Battle.
Feedback from the competition’s judges praised her barbeque flavours, varied techniques and spirit.
Ms Dulake, who beat off competition from eight other chefs in the final of the competition, said: "I’m overwhelmed to win. I feel very happy and privileged."
Her boss, pub manager Sean Hughes, said: "I am delighted that Fiona has won this award.
"She is a wonderfully talented chef and I am thrilled that out of the eight finalists Fiona excelled, not only winning the pub category but the whole competition."
