A St Albans learning disabilities drama group will be performing at a festival which will be attracting theatre groups from across the county.

As part of Learning Disability Awareness week, which runs from August 19 to August 25, 200 Hertfordshire adults with learning disabilities will be taking part in the festival, which is the first event of its kind in the county.

The festival takes place on August 21, and runs from 10am to 3pm.

The event will see 17 art, drama, community and theatre groups from across the county performing on stage.

The Purple All Stars, from St Albans, are a group of people with learning disabilities who provide powerful health promotion messages through music and drama.

The group, who was the first All Stars group to come together and perform at training and events, will be joined by 16 other art, drama, community and theatre groups from across the county.

The festival will take place at The Fielder Centre, in Hatfield Avenue, Hatfield.
