St Albans youngster whips up cash in charity cake sale for Keech Hospice and the NCCA UK Sam Shaw Appeal
A St Albans boy has organised a second cake sale to raise money for a charity which supports his friend who is battling child cancer.
Armed with his best baked cakes and an array of unwanted toys Sam Rickers, 7, raised £85 at his sale in Sherwood Park on Thursday.
This is the second time Sam has organised an event this month to fundraise for Keech Hospice and a charity close to his heart - the NCCA UK Sam Shaw Appeal.
Sam Shaw is a family friend and currently fighting neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. Sam, 4, needs clinical treatment in America, which will cost £250,000.
His mother Victoria Harrison of Sherwood Avenue, said: "It was a success all round and together with the money Sam raised last time, Keech and The Sam Shaw Appeal will share the £157 proceeds.
"A drop in the ocean maybe, but every little counts. "He is very pleased and I am very proud."
