Families enjoy fun in the sun at St Albans fire station open day
Hundreds of people got the chance to find out more about St Albans fire service this weekend at a free open day.
Vehicle cutting demonstrations, a police and teddy bear parachute drop and a chip pan demonstration was just some of the entertainment on offer when St Albans fire station opened its doors to members of the public on Sunday.
It was an opportunity for children and adults to have fun while learning about what firefighters do and home fire safety at the London Road station.
Trevor Ray, from white watch, said: "It was a very good day. Very well supported and the sun shining always helps us.
"We had around 700 to 800 people through and there was lots to do for the kids, as well as the adults.
"The most popular attraction was the Road Traffic Collision demonstration because the tools are really powerful and it is something people don’t see everyday."
