A Redbourn pharmacy has been accredited for promoting good health by offering a range of free NHS services.

The Crown pharmacy has been recognised as a Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLPs) which aim to reduce health inequalities and address local public health challenges.

The free services at the High Street store include blood glucose monitoring, Medicine Use Reviews to help people to get the maximum benefit from their medicines and blood pressure checks and health champions who have been trained to help people to live healthier lives.

Dilesh Rajani, pharmacy owner, said: "All pharmacies provide valuable health services but with Healthy Living Pharmacies, healthy living and wellbeing is a core activity. We are delighted to be able to support to people of Hertfordshire in living healthier lives.

"We know that people like the accessibility of their local pharmacy and the fact that they do not have to book an appointment."

To mark the accreditation, the pharmacy will have a launch event in September where people will be able to find out more about the services available.

In October, it will also be getting involved in the Department of Health’s Stoptober campaign which encourages people to stop smoking.
