Park Street children's entertainer, Mr Banana Head, crowned one of UK's favourites in Netmums.com national party awards
Children’s entertainer Mr Banana Head aka Paul Albert has been crowned one of the UK's favourites in the country’s leading parenting awards.
The entertainer from Park Street was voted runner up as the eastern region’s best children’s party entertainer, in the national party awards from the UK’s largest parenting site Netmums.com.
Dubbed the UK’s ‘Parenting Oscars’, more than a million parents and childcarers were eligible to vote.
As a runner up, Mr Banana Head will now get free advertising on the parenting site and a special certificate as well as the knowledge that he is a netmums favourite.
Paul started out as Mr Banana Head almost three years ago after entertaining his daughter's friends at a birthday party and has been going strong ever since.
He said: "I started out with the aim of creating parties for children that were both completely personalised and unique.
"I also wanted my parties to be full of energy and non-stop laughter and I've been overwhelmed with how quickly they've grown.
"This is fantastic news and I absolutely love being Mr Banana Head so I'm so proud that local parents love what I do and want the rest of the country to know about it.
"I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has voted for me and recommended me to their families and friends, I really appreciate it. The award makes all the hard work totally worthwhile and proves that a local business run by a complete baboon who dances like a turnip can still get national recognition."
