Godfrey’s owner and manager Luke Godfrey, who formally worked in financial software is excited to be a part of the awards. He said: "This is our first time entering the awards so of course we’re pleased to reach a national final.
"We’ve been open for about 10 months and a lot of hard work has gone into bringing the shop up to the standard it’s at today, we’ve also just opened a restaurant which is going well.
"Our philosophy is definitely keep it simple and serve the best quality product possible. We’re very big on sustainability and take all the necessary steps to make sure we’re sourcing products responsibly. Good luck to everyone in the final."
Each shortlisted business will now receive a mystery judging visit from an industry specialist who will assess their performance in a variety of areas, including: product quality, customer service, food preparation procedures, hygiene, innovation, staff training and development, promotional activity and approaches to sustainable sourcing.
