Celebrate city's culinary delights at St Albans Food and Drink Festival 2013
Residents can set their taste buds tingling with the wide range of culinary events and restaurant offers available at this year’s St Albans Food and Drink Festival 2013.
During the festival people can visit CAMRA’s St Albans Beer Festival, join a cupcake making class, go foraging for a banquet and attend a food writing workshop at the festival which runs from Wednesday, September 25 to Sunday, October 6.
Events also include beer tasting with Roger Protz, editor of the Good Beer Guide, Butterfly World’s Honey and Nectar Festival, a vegetarian cooking demonstration and wine tasting evenings.
A highlight is the Festival Finale on Sunday, October 6 when people can sample food from a range of restaurants in the district and enjoy cooking demonstrations.
There will also be a charity fundraising Gourmet Night on Monday, September 30 at the Poggenpohl Showroom in London Road. Chefs from top local restaurants will be cooking a taster menu in front of the crowd and handing out samples of their dishes.
The Mayor of St Albans, Annie Brewster, will host the evening to raise money for The Living Room, a charity that helps people overcome addictions.
Tickets for the Gourmet Night cost £20 and are available from St Albans Tourist and Information Centre (TIC) in the Market Place or by contacting 01727 864511.
Residents can also pick up a festival brochure from TIC and participating venues. Full details are available at www.enjoystalbans.gov.uk/foodanddrinkfestival.
