First Capital Connect rail services for St Albans delayed due to suicidal man
Services on the First Capital Connect train service on Saturday night were delayed due to a suicidal man sitting on a railway bridge north of St Albans.
The overhead line power supply was switched off between 11.05pm and ended at 12.28am in the early hours of Sunday morning, which meant that no services could move at all.
Police were able to talk the person round and he was safely removed.
FCC spokesman Roger Perkins said: "The delays to our services on Saturday were very frustrating for all involved but these were inconsequential next to the importance of saving a life.
"Passengers were advised that we would refund the cost of taxis upon receipt of a valid rail ticket and cab receipt and we have been doing this at our booking offices."
