Pots of Art in St Albans' charity superhero day, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, 'a real success'
Star Wars Stormtroopers invaded a St Albans arts shop on Saturday as part of a superhero day to raise more than £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff from Pots of Art also dressed up as superheroes including Iron Man, Superwoman and Batman, while visitors enjoyed face painters, tattoos, tickets, Super Hero pictures to colour, music to guess and sweet treats.
Amanda Allen, manager of the Holywell Hill shop, said people were stopping traffic in their cars to catch a glimpse of the storm troopers.
She said: "It was an absolutely fantastic day. A real success.
"There was traffic on the Holywell Hill because cars were stopping to take photographs.
"We took the Storm troopers to other shops in the town and members of the public were stopping them just to catch a glimpse and take a photograph.
"Everyone had an amazing time and enjoyed getting their face painted and dressing up.
"We have already had people asking us when our next event is and we are thinking about doing another one for Halloween."
