Skyswood Primary School children left inspired after 'amazing' Mexican day
Children from a St Albans primary school returned to school full of tortillas, fajitas, enchiladas and enthusiasm following a trip to a Mexican restaurant.
Skyswood Primary School pupils this week visited Chiquitos Restaurant in Watford, linked to a new study about Mexico.
The topic has been introduced as part of the new national curriculum in Geography.
The Year 4 class from the school, in Chandlers Road, have been finding out about human geography, physical geography and the culture and history of Mexico.
The restaurant laid on a banquet for the children as well as giving them an informative talk about the culture of Mexico and answering a wide range of questions.
Headteacher Bob Bridle said: "It was an amazing trip and the children loved it.
"The hospitality was fantastic and the team at Chiquitos gave our children the warmest of welcomes.
"Every child had the opportunity to try out a number of Mexican dishes and some of them have been so inspired that they are now planning to cook their own Mexican meals at home."
