Chance to meet new Harperbury Free School headteacher, Martin Blain
Parents will be able to meet the headteacher of a brand new secondary school set to open next year.
Martin Blain will be on hand to answer questions about the new Harperbury Free School tomorrow (Saturday).
The free school is due to open on the old Harperbury Hospital State, in Harper Lane, which is so big it spans across both Radlett and Shenley, in September 2014.
It is currently accepting applications for children currently in Year 6 living in St Albans, Radlett, Bricket Wood, Borehamwood and Shenley.
Parents will find out if their child has been offered a place by March 3, 2014.
Mr Blain is already planning a curriculum for the school to combine the "traditional and cutting edge".
The Cambridge graduate previously told the Borehamwood Times: "Our school will provide a holistic, rigorous education that will recognise the needs of each individual child and their strengths and weaknesses."
Plans were approved by the Department of Education in May following a three-year campaign led by father-of-two Clive Glover, who wanted to open an "ultra local" school.
Mr Blain, who currently works at Immanuel College, Bushey, will now spend the next six months recruiting teachers.
People are invited to Fairway Hall, Brook Close, tomorrow from 10am to 1pm to find out more.
