Charities join in St Albans market to support Remember a charity in your Will Week
A team of charities came together in St Albans market to mark the annual Remember a charity in your Will Week.
Organised by the Abbeyfield Society, based in St Albans, the RNIB, Diabetes UK, Dan Maskell Trust, Dogs Trust and Alzheimer’s Research all spent time talking to residents about the week and their work.
Remember a charity in your Will Week is an annual awareness week designed to encourage more people to take a moment to consider leaving a gift to charity when writing a will.
Val Langford, from Abbeyfield, said: "We hoped to raise awareness of the importance of having a will and considering leaving gifts to charity - as 74 per cent of people support a charity in their lifetime but only 7 per cent go on to leave a charitable gift, which means so much to good causes, large and small."
