St Albans Food and Drink Festival gourmet night raises cash for St Albans mayor Annie Brewster's charity, The Living Room
Chefs from St Albans restaurants created a four-course taster menu for guests at a charity gourmet night.
Held on Monday, September 30, the city mayor’s gourmet night raised £1,891 for The Living Room, a charity dedicated to supporting people with addictions.
The Gourmet Night is one of the highlights of the St Albans Food and Drink Festival which runs until Sunday, October 6.
Chefs from Darcys, Lussmanns, The Foragers at The Verulam Ams and Brasserie Blanc demonstrated their skills at the Poggenpohl kitchen showroom in London Road.
Each restaurant cooked a course in front of the guests and handed out samples for them to try. The menu included thai kangaroo salad, sea bream with clams, pan roasted crown of wood pigeon and chocolate delice.
Annie Brewster, the mayor of St Albans, said: "It was a tremendous night that helped raise funds for my mayoral charity and showcased some of our most talented chefs. They created such delicious food in front of our eyes while providing clever cooking tips throughout the night.
"I want to thank them all for generously taking part and everyone else who bought tickets to help support this fundraising event."
