Witness appeal after attempted burglary in Green Lane, St Albans
Police are appealing for witnesses to help trace two young men who attempted to enter a St Albans house through patio doors.
The attempted burglary took place in Green Lane at around 7.50pm on September 23 when two men forced entry through patio doors at the rear of the house.
The alarm activated and no items were stolen.
The men, who were wearing caps, made off and went through gardens in nearby Partridge Road where they then attempted to gain entry into another house, but were disturbed by the victim. They then made off towards High Oaks.
Detective Constable Dean Trollope from St Albans crime unit, said: "We have been made aware that a member of the public stopped the two offenders after they had jumped a fence in Partridge Road and I am keen to speak with this person as they could provide vital information.

"The witness is described as a white man aged in his 50s or 60s and was wearing jeans and a jacket."
