Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre hosts charity triathlon for Hope and Homes for Children
More than one hundred competitors from across the country descended on a St Albans fitness centre on Sunday to take part in a charity triathlon.
Participants swam, cycled and ran their way to glory by competing in the Herts Charity Challenge Triathlon & Duathlon in aid of Hope and Homes for Children at Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre.
In the process they raised £110,000 for the international children’s charity, bringing the total raised by the event since it started in 2002 to over £1.5 million.
St Albans resident Martin Rashdi who has organised the triathlon for the last 11 years said: "It’s incredible to think that through this event we have transformed the lives of thousands of some of the world’s most vulnerable children by enabling them to grow up within the love of a family and the security of a home."
