St Albans Pub holds conker competition to fundraise for Multiple Sclerosis Society
A St Albans pub organised a conker competition on Sunday to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
This is the third year The Garibaldi, in Albert Street has fundraised for the charity and is planning charity events all through the month of October.
Landlords, Caroline and Dave Beale came up with the idea of a conker competition after taking over the pub three years ago.
The couple found a conker competition shield dating back to 1987 in the pubs cabinet and decided to carry on this trend.
Winners on the day included:
Adult category- Keith John
Team category- Divide and Conker
Child category- Eddie Zivkovic
Mrs Beale said: "It was a great day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
"We will be raising money throughout the whole of October and hope to raise £1,000 for Multiple Sclerosis Society."
