St Albans gears up for annual firework display in aid of Alzheimer's Society
The skies above Verulamium Park will be ablaze with colour as thousands flock to attend the St Albans Cathedral Fireworks.
On Saturday, November 2, one of the largest firework displays in the south east of England will take place with a spectacular 25-minute firework display with accompanying music at 7.30pm.
Visitors can soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a range of food and drink from 6pm when gates open.
The Cathedral has been organising the display through a team of local volunteers for over 25 years and has raised over £500,000 for local and national charities. This year’s nominated charity is Alzheimer’s Society, along with local charities.
Richard Watson, Sub Dean from the Abbey said: "The Cathedral’s Firework display has become one of the highlights of the year in St Albans. We are really pleased to be able to provide a high quality event for the local community.
"What's even more important is that the event raises a huge amount of money for local and national charities.
"So a big thank you to the thousands of people who will turn out to give it their support and if you’ve never been, there’s always room for more so please come along."
The display will take place at 7.30pm in Verlumaimum Park. Gates open from 6.00pm.
Tickets cost £5 per adult, £2 per child or a family ticket ( 2 Adults and 2 Children) for £10. Tickets can be purchased in advance at The Alban Arena www.alban-arena.co.uk or by phoning the Box Office on 01727 844488.
