A group of like minded individuals, with a wealth of musical expertise and stagecraft, have came together under the PURPLE TREE banner. The aim is to recreate the flash and bombast of those heady days of the 1970's and 1980's, and celebrate the music of all the major players associated with the Deep Purple family tree.

Great songs,  individual instrumental dexteritty, improvisational skills and a thrilling stage presence all combine to provide an exciting performance from this band of seasoned professionals, recreating the best of Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake and other branches of the Purple family Tree ......

DAVID JOHN NORMAN (Drums, Backing Vocals) has many years of
playing and recording experience under his belt, chalking up over 3000 gigs,
and he is still an active member of 8O's NWoBHM band GASKIN, who have
released 5 albums to date. A complete musical workaholic, Dave is also
currently working on several other original AOR and Prog recording projects.
After auditions in late 2013, Dave settled on four uniquely talented and hard
working individuals to assist him in growing the Tree !!!

TREY PATTERSON (Lead Vocals) is well known around the Lincs and
Yorkshire pub and club scene, having fronted and played guitar, bass and
Keyboards in various combinations for innumerable bands - Trey is also a keen
fan of the 70's Glam ROCK scene, and is a current member of GLAM. To tackle
six of the world's greatest ever Rock voices (ie Gillan, Coverdale, Hughes,
Dio, Bonnet and Lynn Tumer) requires a big voice ! - Fortunately, Trey is more
than up to the task, covering the range of styles with aplomb.

CHRISTIAN ILLINGSWORTH (Guitars) is from the wilds of South Yorkshire,
and first picked up a guitar after being inspired by Angus Young, Jimmy Page,
Tony lommi, and of course, Ritchie Blackmore. Christian has played with a
few cover bands, and most recently was a member of recording band TRIBE.
Toting a Strat for the Blackmore material, and a Les Paul for the blues rock of
Whitesnake, and playing with a his custom purple Matamp stack, Christian is
armed and ready !!

LEONARD SMITH (Bass) has been playing since he was 18 years old,
starting with local bands in Nottingham in the 1970s. Afrer marriage, children,
eight house moves and motgages, Len finally had the chance to get back into
music in 1987 afrer moving to Lincoln. Since then he has played bass in many
local pub rock cover bands, including After Hours, Cool 4 Dogs, Sloth
Brothers, White Room and The Snogs. Having now retired, he can
conecentrate on music full-time and hopes to devote more time to teaching
bass.

MARTIN HOWELLS (Keyboards, Backlng Vocals), hailing from the rural
fields of mid Lincolnshire, has a long and vaired career performing in original
and covers bands, from chart hits to the uncharted territories of Progressive
Rock ! Toting an affay of banked keys that Rick Wakeman would be envious
of, Martin's skill and dexterity in recreating the difficuft keyboard parts of Jon
Lord, Tony Carey and Don Airey is second to none.
