The highly acclaimed acappella octet VOCES8 visited Beechwood Park School in Markyate as part of the school’s professional concert series.
Almost 100 children and adults joined a workshop day and concert led by the award winning group.
After taking part in some warm-up sessions and gleaning advice on vocal technique, the participants were taught several arrangements of songs in multiple parts, including some chart toppers, and a selection of songs by Benjamin Brittain.
Beechwood’s chamber choir, Vox Leonis, received masterclasses focusing on performance technique from VOCES8 members.
The day concluded with a concert ranging from Renaissance works to Jazz.
Beechwood headmaster Patrick Atkinson said: "It was a great privilege for all involved to work with musicians of such calibre and ingenuity."
VOCES8 has just announced its debut album with Decca Classics, Eventide, which can be previewed on YouTube and heard on Classic FM.
The next concert in Beechwood Park School’s professional concert series will be on Friday, January 31, when the percussion duo, O Duo will be performing.
