Residents are being encouraged to come and hear what the county council has planned for the old fire station site in St Albans.

Hertfordshire County Council is holding two public exhibitions to showcase their proposals for the former Ariston Works site, in Harpenden Road.

The council is preparing a planning application for residential development and open space.

The exhibitions of the proposals have been arranged to provide residents with an opportunity to view and make any comments on the proposals prior to the submission of the application to St Albans City & District Council.

Derrick Ashley, Cabinet Member for Resources and Transformation, said: "We would encourage everyone to come along to the exhibition and take a look at the proposals for the site which will include houses, open spaces and new locations for existing community facilities. It is important that local residents take the opportunity to make their views and any concerns known."

The exhibitions will be held on Tuesday, December 17, from 2pm to 7.30pm and on Tuesday, January 14, from 10am to 12 noon, at the Pioneer Youth Club, in Heathlands Drive.
