Horse owners can get their saddles stamped in Bricket Wood as part of a driver against equine equipment theft.

Police officers will be in Little Munden Farm, School Lane, on Saturday between 10 am and 1pm.

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "I would encourage anyone who owns a saddle to come forward to this event. Saddles are expensive and although thefts are not a big problem, crime prevention initiatives are always a good idea to help deter opportunist thieves.

"We will be available to stamp leather saddles. The stamp itself is a circular pattern with Hertfordshire Constabulary around the outside and a unique serial number across the middle.

People attending will be required to complete an application form with your details, details of the saddle and where the saddle is kept.

They will also receive a registration form that details your saddles reference number and a section to complete should you sell your saddle.
