Two boys were robbed of their iPhones after being threatened by a group of men in Harpenden yesterday.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the pair were approached in Pickford Hill at around 8pm on Tuesday, December 10.

The offenders are described as one white male in his early 20s with a medium build, and two mixed race men, possibly Asian, also in their early 20s, one of these men had a moustache and beard. All three were wearing dark tracksuit tops and two had their heads covered.

Detective Sergeant Carolyn Taylder is investigating and said: "The boys did the right thing by handing over their phones. They have understandably been left shaken by this incident. Fortunately robberies are very rare in Harpenden and we will do everything we can to trace the offenders.

"This happened at a time when there would have other people around. I would appeal to anyone who may have seen this incident or have any information relating to this offence to contact me as soon as possible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Taylder via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101 citing crime reference number F2/13/1568.
