Harpenden mayor Rosemary Farmer 'delighted' with Mayor’s at Home charity event
Harpenden’s town mayor organised a Mayor’s at Home event to raise £500 for her chosen charities.
The Home event took place in Park Hall on Thursday, December 5 in aid of the town mayor Rosemary Farmer’s nominated charities; The Harpenden Trust and The Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity.
There was an array of craft stalls with goods by local artists beautifully displayed and a wine-tasting table providing the opportunity to taste and guess some wines. Teas, coffee, cakes and sandwiches were served and a raffle was held during the event.
The town mayor said: "It was lovely to see local residents enjoying the refreshments and catching up with one another. "There were some super raffle prizes, which included several hampers - perfect for the festive season. I was delighted with all the help and support, especially from Mr and Mrs Buchanan. "
Plans are now in progress for the town mayor’s next charity event in the New Year and there will be a Murder Mystery evening on Sunday, March 9.
