Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre in St Albans held a special Dance Fusion class to raise more than £200 for the Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

On Saturday, December 14 The Everyone Active team at the Hollywell Hill leisure centre held the class which attracted 60 people, who helped to raise £217.58 for the cause.

‘Dance Fusion’ was a one off class that fused Zumba moves with ballroom dance inspired moves from the regular Fitsteps class.

Chris Dennis, Group exercise co-ordinator at the leisure centre said: “We were delighted with the turn out for the class, we had a full house and everyone seemed to have a great time.

“We are pleased to be able to make our own small contribution to help support those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

“I am grateful to everyone who came along to support the event and of course to the instructors who gave up their Saturday afternoon to run the class. We all had so much fun I think we’ll be running another class very soon.”

Residents, who couldn’t make it to the class, still have time to donate to the appeal at the Westminster Lodge reception desk.
