Christmas came early in Bricket Wood when Little Munden Equestrian recreated London’s Olympia Horse Show at the stables.
On Saturday, December 21 events kicked off with a fancy dress parade which included a full nativity scene and was won by Tania Thorpe and her horse Red as “Sugar Plum Fairy and the Christmas tree”.
After a series of events, including a festive obstacle course and Strictly Come Prancing, the staff braved the weather to perform a musical dressage display in full fancy dress.
Tom Hawkins, yard manager, said “Riding is a great activity enjoyed by people from all walks of life. When my wife Tracy and I took over management of the yard in October, one of our aims was to develop a community spirit and to organise events that could can bring people together in a more social way.
“This Christmas show is the first of a series of events that will include an Easter Eggstravaganza, and a summer treasure hunt.”
