Temporary lights will be installed at a junction in St Albans next month due to refurbishment works on a pedestrian crossing.

The almost £75,000 scheme is to be carried out by Ringway on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council on traffic signals at the junction of London Road with Watson’s Walk and Lattimore Road will take place on Monday, January 6.

Puffin facilities at the existing pedestrian crossing will be installed, which will mean the red and green man symbol will be near to the push button and not on the far side of the road.

Temporary four-way signals will be used throughout the duration of the works. There will also be barriers to guide pedestrians.

Works on London Road that require lane closures will take place between 10am and 3.30pm It is expected that the work will take six nights to complete.
