A man his 50s died after his car crashed through a fence and in to a children’s playground in Park Street.

The former captain of the England blind football team, David Clarke, was left ‘staggered’ when he was asked to present the FA Cup during the final at Wembley Stadium. Harpenden’s Mr Clarke said: “The FA Cup is just such a big tradition in British football. I’ve grown up watching this on TV. Never once did I think I would be part of that in any way.”
