Police are appealing for information after two men forced their way into a 63-year-old woman’s house in London Colney and demanded money.

At around 8.15pm on Sunday, January 5, two men knocked on the door of a woman’s house in Five Acres. The woman tried to identify the men as she opened the door, but they barged in knocking her over in the process.

The criminals demanded money, before searching the living room and bedroom. After finding the woman's purse and some jewellery, they left the house and ran off in an unknown direction.

The men are described as white, in their early twenties and between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall. They were wearing dark hoodies and jogging bottoms.

Investigating Officer DC Neil Pugh said: "This was a very frightening experience for the lady who, although not seriously injured, has been left traumatised by the incident. Preying on the elderly and vulnerable is despicable and we want to trace these men as soon as possible.

"I would urge anyone with any information to contact me as soon as possible."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Neil Pugh on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
