A sum of money found during a charity collection around St Albans will now be gifted to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Just before Christmas, Clothes Aid sent out an appeal in the hope of reuniting a large sum of money with its rightful owner.
While carrying out its regular door to door clothes collections in the AL3 and AL4 area in November, a Clothes Aid Macmillan Cancer Support bag was collected containing, not only the usual clothes donations, but also a womens' handbag containing £769.23.
Hatfield Police Station have been in possession of the unclaimed fortune for four weeks, so now the money will be gifted to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Clothes Aid have been the official clothes collection partner to Macmillan Cancer Support since 2012 and have raised over £450,000 nationwide to help provide nurses, financial grants, information and support to those who need it.
