Students from St Albans have been named as some of the UK’s highest academic achievers in personal financial education at A Level.

Edward Rose and Tanzim Rahman from Verulam School saw their results in the Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) come in the top one per cent in the country out of more than 30,000 students.

The CeFS is an AS Level equivalent qualification, offered by leading financial education charity ifs University College. In recognition of their achievement, Edward and Tanzim will now be offered a £750 scholarship towards any full-time undergraduate degree programme offered by ifs University College.

David Bullock, Deputy Head from Verulam School said: "Both students deserve praise for their outstanding achievement. To be recognised among the most successful students in the country is testament to their effort and application."
