A man in his late 60s was taken to hospital last night after his car hit a lamppost in Radlett.

The accident happened just after 6pm on the corner of Goodyers Avenue, just off Watling Street.

Firefighters from Garston and Borehamwood were called after reports the male was trapped in his Nissan Almera.

Police and an ambulance also attended, and the elderly male was taken to Barnet hospital for further assessment.

The ambulance service said he was not believed to be seriously injured.
