People in St Albans are being urged to give blood in the coming weeks as part of an NHS drive.

The health service is marking World Cancer Day, on February 4 by asking people to donate for transfusions, which are a vital part of cancer treatment.

A donation session will be held in the Quality Hotel, London Road on Thursday, February 6.

There will be two sessions at the venue, with the first between 1pm and 3pm and the second between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.
