Michael Robert Ellis, 22, of Alban Avenue, St Albans. On October 17, 2013, stole a bottle of wine from Tesco Stores, St Albans. Discharged conditionally for six months. Costs: £35.
Mark Geoffrey Barnard, 27, of Manor Road, London Colney. On December 15, 2013, assaulted a person by beating him; also, on same date, damaged the window to Harpenden Kebab and Grill restaurant; used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour; damaged the window to HSBC Bank; damaged the window to Savills Estate Agents. Compensation, costs: £735.
William George Brooks, 63, of Cell Barnes Hospital, Highfield Lane, St Albans. On August 20, 2013, assaulted a person by beating her. Also, on same date, damaged glasses, plates and mugs, belonging to another. Restraining order made. Fine, costs: £420.
The following were convicted of watching a colour television without a licence (fine plus costs in brackets; those marked * were dealt with in their absence): *Deborah Cadle, 33, of Mill Walk, Wheathampstead (£530); *Tamica Gentle, 36, of The Hedges, Woollam Crescent, St Albans (£310); *Robert Siwak, 42, of Ryecroft Court, Hatfield Road, St Albans (£310).
