The annual 10 mile Fred Hughes road run around St Albans took place on Sunday.
This year’s flooding meant the usual route had to be changed at the last minute, but approximately 670 participants completed the road run, which was organised by the St Albans Striders and race directors Lucy Stern and Mandy Attree.
Ms Attree said: "The atmosphere was really good and we were very lucky with the weather, because it wasn’t too cold.
"We have had some really nice comments from first timers, which we are really pleased about."
Around 70 members were also involved in marshalling the race.
Ms Attree added: "We have also had some really good feedback about our race marshalls. There have been so many compliments about how enthusiastic and encouraging they were."
The overall winner of the race was Daniel Woodgate, from Luton Athletics Club, who picked up a time of 51 minutes and 37 seconds.
Julian Lings from Enfield Harriers took second place and Paul Adams from St Albans Striders took third place.
The fastest woman was Sophie Delderfield, from Vale of Aylesbury Athletics Club, who ran the run in one hour, one minute and nine seconds.

Helen Taranowski from West 4 Harriers took second prize and Joanne Kent from Barnet and District took third place.
St Albans Striders won the Women's Team Prize as well as the St Albans Vet Women's Team prize and Luton AC won the Men's Team Prize.
The race had to be cancelled last year because of snow, so organisers were relieved this year’s race went smoothly.
