To celebrate Louis Braille's revolutionary communication system for blind and partially sighted people, which uses a series of raised dots, sight loss charity RNIB is encouraging people in Hertfordshire to "go dotty" to help support people with sight loss.
There are lots of ways for individuals, schools and workplaces to go dotty, from dressing in polka dots for the day, having a dotty cake sale or something truly dotty like bathing in a tub of baked beans.
To organise your own Dotty Day, choose a date and visit www.rnib.org.uk/dottyday for fundraising ideas and everything you need to make your event a huge success.
There are estimated to be more than 32,000 people affected by sight loss in Hertfordshire, and every penny raised will go towards the work RNIB does in promoting and supporting the independence and inclusion of blind and partially sighted people.
