Harpenden volunteers urged to step up as dog walkers
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is appealing for volunteers in the Harpenden area to take part in its Guide Dog Puppy Walking programme.
The role of the volunteer Puppy Walker is to raise and care for a Guide Dog Puppy, within the volunteer's home environment, from the age of six weeks to approximately 12 months.
Before Guide Dogs are old enough to begin their training, Guide Dog Puppies are housed within everyday homes and families so that they can be properly socialised and become familiar with many different environments and people.
