Roads in the St Albans district remain closed this afternoon due to major flooding.

Hertfordshire Constabulary have reported that some drivers are going through road closures and moving signs. Drivers are warned to avoid driving down any roads, which have been closed.

Among the roads which remain closed this afternoon include the B487 Hemel Hempstead Road, Redbourn High Street, Sandridge and Coopers Green Lane, St Albans. One lane remains closed on the M25 anti clockwise at at J21 A405 St Albans.

The Environment Agency has warned that just 30cm of water can wash a car away.

With more wet weather forecast today and into the weekend drivers are also being advised to expect delays, particularly at rush hour today, and to leave extra time for their journeys.
