St Albans' youngest Women’s Institute will celebrate its 1st birthday this month with an evening of burlesque cupcake decorating with celebrity chef Charlotte White.
On February 19, Herts Belles WI will welcome Charlotte, who featured on the latest series of the BBC's Great British Bake Off, to help them celebrate their anniversary in the Jubilee Centre in Catherine Street from 7.30pm.
The burlesque theme carries on from the Herts Belles WI's successful Burlesque Circus charity night at the Cue Club in St Albans last September, which raised £1,200.
Acting President Lia Nelissen said: "I'm delighted that the Mayor of St Albans attended our burlesque charity night, and that she's celebrating our first birthday with us.
"She's an inspirational young mayor who's challenging the traditional stereotypes in the same way we are."
The vintage-themed group, which began with only 11 members in February last year, today has more than 40 regular attendees aged between 22 to 72-years-old each month.
