Residents in St Albans have the opportunity to have their say on Parliamentary polling districts and places ahead of the next General Election in 2015.

Under the Representation of the People Act 1983, St Albans District Council is required to conduct a review, which will look at the boundaries for geographical areas created by sub-dividing a constituency or ward by January 2015.

It will also consider the suitability of polling places and a designated building for a district, where a polling station would be located.

The review will not include the exact location of polling stations, but the council may consider alternative suggestions during the review.

Mike Lovelady, Head of Legal, Democratic and Regulatory Services at the council, said: "The council needs to ensure that reasonable facilities are available at the voting locations which must also be accessible to all, including people with disabilities."

Voters within the district or Parliamentary constituency should submit their views by Friday, March 28.
