Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog was stolen in St Albans yesterday afternoon.
The sandy coloured, seven-month-old whippet, Doug, was stolen between 3.10pm and 3.30pm yesterday in Hatfield Road by three men in fluorescent vests.
The dog’s owner, Jayliegh Clark, opened the door to her house and Doug ran out.
She said: "We really want him home, he’s only a pup and should be at home with his family."
Doug was then picked up and put into a white transit van, which sped off down Colney Heath Lane.
Hertfordshire police said they are investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hertfordshire police non-emergency number 101 quoting the crime reference number F1/14/531. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
