Solicitors from St Albans have raised more than £5,000 for Carers in Hertfordshire at their annual quiz night.

More than 120 people were entertained by compere Rosie Glow at Rayden Solicitors’ third fundraiser in the Old Albanians Rugby Club on Thursday, February 13 to raise £5,208.

Staff at The Limes based solicitors have selected Carers in Hertfordshire as their charity of the year.

Katherine Rayden, partner at the firm, said: "It was wonderful to see so many people come and support the firm’s efforts to raise funds for such a deserving charity."

Andrew Mills, Chair of Trustees for the charity added: "Over 10 per cent of the population of Hertfordshire are unpaid carers of a family member or friend with illness or disability who could not otherwise manage.

"The aim of Carers in Hertfordshire is to reach as many as possible of these carers aged 8 to 80 plus and provide them with a wide range of services including information, advice, one to one support, workshops, training and a platform to have a voice.

St Albans & Harpenden Review:

"Faced with the increasingly difficult challenge of fundraising, we are delighted that Rayden Solicitors have chosen us as their Charity of the Year. The quiz night was a fantastic way to start our new partnership and we'd like to thank Rayden Solicitors and all who attended and who helped to make it such a successful event."
