TV presenter and journalist Esther Rantzen CBE is set to host a charity lunch in a St Albans hotel next month.
Ms Rantzen will speak about her newly launched charity The Silverline, which aims to help elderly people by giving them someone to speak to 24 hours a day, during lunch at St Michaels Manor Hotel on April 22 from 12 noon to 2pm.
The Silverline will work like ChildLine by giving support and advice to those suffering neglect or abuse.
The lunch will raise money for DEMAND, a charity which designs bespoke equipment for people with disabilities.
Tickets cost £30 and include a 2 course meal and glass of wine. To buy a ticket visit www.demand.org.uk/fundraising. There will be free parking provided on the day.
