A St Albans postnatal class has been voted among Britain’s best in a prestigious national competition.

The Mums and Bums and Tums class held at Fleetville Junior School,in Hatfield Road on Mondays at 10am scooped one of the top awards in the Classes For You competition, run by Britain’s biggest parenting site Netmums.

The UK-wide competition was launched as a chance for people running adult classes to be recognised for their hard work serving and improving the local community.

Class organiser Lynn Redshaw she is delighted to be crowned a local favourite.

She said: “I am thrilled to have won the award and delighted that so many local mums voted for us. It is such a friendly class, with plenty of time to chat over a cup of tea afterwards. I love to teach it and I am busy researching new venues and days to offer more opportunity for new mums to get fit."

The St Albans specialist postnatal fitness instructor and mother-of-one, set up the class in partnership with The Alban Way Children's Centres, after discovering how difficult it was to find a relaxed postnatal class.
