TV presenter and journalist Esther Rantzen will be speaking at a two-course lunch fundraiser for Abbots Langley based charity DEMAND.

Ms Rantzen is the founding patron of DEMAND, and the event will take place at St Michaels Manor Hotel, in St Albans at 12pm on April 22.

All profits will go towards the design and manufacture of bespoke equipment to help transform the lives of children and adults living with disability.

Ms Rantzen will be speaking about her newly launched Charity The Silverline, which aims to help elderly people by giving them someone to speak to 24 hours a day, and will work like ChildLine by giving support and advice to those suffering neglect or abuse.

Like her charities Childline and The Silverline, DEMAND too help children and older people, but in a different way.

DEMAND exists to conduct and encourage the design and manufacture of equipment that both improves the quality of life and provides opportunities for current and future generations of individuals with disabilities, irrespective of their age, gender, disability or ability to pay.

Tickets are £30 and are available via www.demand.org.uk
