A Markyate school has donated £10,000 to Keech Hospice Care through various fundraising activities.
Pupils at Beechwood Park School, Markyate, presented a fundraising cheque for £10,000 to Keech Hospice Care, which will go towards to its Girls Aloud programme.
Allison Harmer, who received the cheque on behalf of Keech Hospice Care, explained: "We are so very grateful for this donation from the Parents’ Association at Beechwood Park as it will fund the entire annual cost of our Girls Aloud programme.
"This is a club which offers friendship and practical support to some of the young teenagers we support, all of whom are facing an uncertain future. The donation will also contribute towards "Sparklers", a sibling bereavement programme."
Patrick Atkinson, school head teacher added: "Our Parents’ Association has been a tireless fundraiser for this important and very deserving local charity for the past 16 years and we are delighted to continue our links with Keech Hospice Care."
