More than 350 runners took part in this year’s St Albans Sport Relief Mile to raise more than £10,000 for good causes.

The Sport Relief Mile took place at Highfield Park on Sunday, which was once again organised by St Albans City Youth Community FC.

The Mayor of St Albans Annie Brewster got things underway and looked the part in her Red Sport Relief running attire.

She said: "What a fantastic community event. Sport Relief manages to embrace all standards of competitor from top level senior athletes to novice tiny tots with everyone willing everyone else on. The atmosphere was amazing. I loved seeing complete families taking part.

"Congratulations to all our community groups for their brilliant organisation in staging so many races and to those who took part and raised huge amounts of money for such a worthy cause".
