A 23-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy who robbed people in Harpenden of their mobile phones last year have both been given custodial sentences.
Charlie Mead, aged 23, of Arundel Court in Luton was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment and a 14-year-old boy was given a two year sentence for the robberies and a GBH in Luton at Luton Crown Court on Friday.
The robberies took place at:
• Carlton Road on September 14, 2013
• Westfield Road on September 22, 2013 (Mead was not charged with this robbery)
• Westfield Road on September 29, 2013
• Coldharbour Lane on September 29, 2013
Harpenden neighbourhood sergeant Ann-Marie Owen said: "The victims were very traumatised by the threat of violence in these robberies.
"The victims and their families are happy that these men have now been locked up. This sentence shows that people who commit robberies are not welcome in Harpenden."
