McFly drummer Harry Judd will be putting aspiring youth bands to the test this evening when he sits on the judging panel of a Battle of the Bands fundraising competition.

The contest has been organised by Mr Judd’s wife Izzy, in honour of her brother, Rupert, who suffered from serious brain injuries after a car crash in 1997.

The event is also supported by Harpenden Lions to raise money for the Eyes Alight Appeal, which was set up in March 2010 by Mrs Judd and her family.

The competition, will take place at Harpenden Public Halls and kicks off at 7pm, with doors opening at 6.15 pm.

The St Albans & Harpenden Review is also going to be there taking photographs. Look out for them in next Wednesday’s edition.
